Description
The project consists of the following components;
1. Widening Interstate 5 mainline in the median one lane in each direction from Country Club Boulevard to north of Eight Mile Road;
2. Constructing auxiliary lanes between March Lane and Benjamin Holt interchanges;
3. Modification of the existing interchange at Hammer Lane and construction of auxiliary lanes from Benjamin Holt to Hammer Lane;
4. Construction of a new interchange at Otto Drive and construction of auxiliary lanes from Hammer Lane to Otto Drive;
5. Modification of the existing interchange at Eight Mile Road and constructing auxiliary lanes from Otto Drive to Eight Mile Road;
6. Construction of new undercrossing north of Eight Mile Road with no ramp connections to the freeway; and
7. Construction of new interchange at North Gateway Boulevard and auxiliary lanes from Eight Mile Road to North Gateway.
The project limits on Interstate 5 are from the Interstate 5/Country Club Boulevard interchange (PM 28.5) on the south to the proposed new interchange at North Gateway Boulevard (PM 37.1) on the north.

R&M Responsibilities
R&M is the Prime Consultant, responsible for PSR, Project Approval, Environmental Documentation and PS&E phases. R&M is directly reponsible for geometric, traffic staging, structural, stage construction, drainage and utility design. R&M manages subconsultants for surveys, geotechnical, traffic, electrical and landscaping.
Special Features
The project is a large multi-year highway and interchange project, including widening of 22 bridge structures. Extensive coordination, civil and structural engineering required.
